A tornado that spent 20 minutes on the ground in central Alberta “shredded” Elisa Humphreys’ home. The tornado touched down Saturday afternoon between Carstairs and Didsbury, Alta., and destroyed several homes and farmland in its path. Elisa Humphreys said she had received an Alberta Emergency Alert that a tornado was on the way, looked out her window and saw it barrelling toward her. She fled just in time with her dog and cat.
