The Eastern Screech Owl is the most common species of owl we admit to our hospital. So far this year, we have had 82! This Eastern Screech Owl (23-4998) was discovered in Fort Lauderdale unable to fly. Radiographs confirmed a fracture in the left wing. This owl also had trauma to the right eye. After administering fluids and pain medications, the wing was placed in a wrap to allow for proper alignment while healing. This owl’s treatment plan includes regular bandage changes and physical therapy
