Unpopular opinion. I normally fish a buzzbait in these conditions on fluorocarbon line. This is essentially an open water situation. The fluorocarbon gives you a little bit of stretch that helps the fish eat the bait a little more than with braid. The braid is less forgiving and you can pull the bait away from the fish if you set too quickly. If I’m around heavy grass and reeds I will use braid only because it cuts through the grass better.
