If you have an older carburated vehicle that's been sitting for a while often times the bowl in the carb has sried oit or drained back so it would require an excessive amount of cranking for the diaphragm pump to prime and then fill the carb. To bypass this I just clean out an old pop bottle, drill a small hole in the cap and fill it with gas.
