Active Isolated Stretching Benefits
I always talk about the benefits of stretching, but this may have lead people to believe that stretching is essential for health. This is not the case. You could actually live your whole life without ever stretching and still be quite flexible. Aaron and I collaborated on a post a few days ago and most people in the comments were disgusting. Aarons point was “It’s okay not to stretch” What people heard…. “STRETCHING IS BAD” which is not what was said. I hope we all can move on and continue to do

Let me make this CLEAR…I think frequent passive stretching can be useful for certain recovery & meditative/mental benefits. But if the reason you’re stretching every day is because you think it’s going to lead to significant, long-lasting improvements in your overall flexibility, then you’re probably going to be very disappointed with the results. The intensity of the flexibility work you’re doing is WAY more important than how often you do it. And the reason I’m sharing this message, is because

Also known as the hold-relax-contract method, the CRAC is similar to CR but focuses on antagonistic pairs of muscles.
