The Night Owl

Mother Great Gray Owl with two tiny owlets. The owlets hatch as very small, helpless, nearly naked little babies and their mother has to stay with them almost every moment to keep them warm, protect them from predators and feed them. Under her care they grow rapidly and new warm feathers come in so that within three weeks the mother can take breaks off the nest. This video was taken about two weeks after the owlets had hatched.
