How do we prioritize the duties of the Outside Vent Firefighter? 🤔👨🏻‍🚒 When I refer to “the OV,” I mean whatever person(s) in your department have initial responsibility for the outside truck company duties, whatever you may call it. If we look at fireground duties... The engine’s job is to extinguish the fire. The inside truck company’s job is getting the engine in, search & removal of victims, and controlling extension. Which means the outside truck member(s) are responsible for everything
