My first images of Comet Nishimura C/2023 P1 from September 8th. This comet was discovered August 11, 2023 by amateur astronomer Hideo Nishimura. Think he used a big fancy telescope? Nope, he first captured the comet using a Canon DSLR and a telephoto lens. Nishimura found the comet before any of the automated systems designed to find comets. That's a pretty awesome discovery.
