With tuna fishing season right around the corner, I figured now would be a fun time to re-live two of my favorite bites from last season! 😎 ⁠ ⁠ The first bite is from June 28th 2022 when we hooked and fought a tuna that might of been 1,000 pounds but lost after 2.5 hours. The second bite is from December 5th 2022 when we landed a 500 pounder. 🐟 ⁠ ⁠ Capturing bites on camera is one of my favorite things to do! We'll see what happens in 2023. 🎣 ✌🏻 ⁠ Tight lines! For those of you who might not know, the fish you are looking at right now is called a tautog or blackfish. They are a strong fish which likes to hang out around rocks and other gnarly bottom structure. In fact, I lose two underwater cameras last week that got stuck in the rocks in order to capture this shot! 🤦🏻‍♂️⁠ ⁠ Last week we caught a few tautog that were probably 8-10 pounds which is a really nice size for around here. However, the Massachusetts state record tautog is a whopping 22 pound

With the sporadic reports of sizable striped bass caught across the cape cod canal this past week, there’s no doubt that’s it’s only a matter of time before huge schools of fish start moving through in numbers. Back in July of 2021 I was lucky enough to find some bass feeding on topwater, and was able to find myself a keeper! #fishing #stripedbass
