National Bison Day

Today is National Bison Day! Bison live in all 50 states and serves as a symbol of unity, resilience and healthy lifestyles and communities. The largest terrestrial animals in North America, bison once roamed in herds numbering in the millions dominating prairie and forest ecosystems. Currently, there are approximately 20,500 Plains bison in conservation herds and an additional 420,000 in commercial herds. | Sierra Club
