2014年5月13日 · I believe Nick worked for WDAO and WONE, had a show called the Power House Calhoun 237 posts Oct 12, 2013 7:20 PM Nick was a friend of my Dad's at one time, back during his stint at WGIC in Xenia. They did some trading of records, 45s. I remember going with Dad to see Nick doing remotes from Ellis Ford in downtown Xenia.

On November 11, 1956, Dayton police broadcasted a program on television for the first time. “Dayton Police Call” aired on WHIO-TV every Monday at 6:45 p.m. for 15 minutes. These and other programs, such as “Buzz the Fuzz” on WDAO in the 1960s and the WHIO Traffic Air Scout, were public relations efforts and means to provide information.

2014年3月24日 · I’m not sure why they eventually shut down and WDAO was purchased by their current owner Jim Johnson, who was previously the GM of WDAO. Maybe BigMo if he’s still around has info on their demise. BTW, I don’t remember BW’s name, but he was a well-known radio personality in the Dayton market, and did host a jazz-based radio program.

2011年8月10日 · Where I was at in Dayton, WVUD and WDAO were the coolest stations. Patty Spitler and Turk Logan (WDAO) co-DJ'd a fund-raising dance our Class (1979) at Colonel White held. Big event. It was beyond cool... I got turned on to jazz guitar when Patty played George Benson's "Breezin'" on Wax Museum. The track "Affirmation" seized me.

2013年10月11日 · WAVI shared its building off 75 near Stewart with urban contemporary station WDAO FM. WDAO played the best R&B/Motown in the area. I remember being told once back in the day WDAO was short for WHITE DAYS ARE OVER. In point of fact, their on-air talent was one of the more moderate voices during the trying times of the Civil Rights movement.

2015年2月3日 · My mom could probably help Cathy with her framed picture identification. Places changed names regularly and places came and went. There was even a radio station broadcasting from there for a short while. I think it was WDAO but I am not sure. The Bootlegger was called The OIffice I beleive for a while before it was the bootlegger.
