Aug 7, 2006 · Also, what made those days wonderful was that plenty of 'FM' played bands usually had a 'hit' at some point that would also get AM exposure,even if it only bubbled around the lower 200. By 1973-'74 I was appreciating the FM format better (high school now) and it started to be my dominant form of music exposure. Sadly, by 1979 it was all about dead.

Mar 31, 2007 · I distinctly remember the title track from The River getting heavy airplay on WQDR-FM in Raleigh, North Carolina when I was a kid. Although I'm not a huge Bruce fan now, I remember taping "Hungry Heart" off the radio by holding a cassette recorder up to the speaker.

The first time I'd heard FM in stereo playing long sets of what is now "classic rock", album cuts by Zeppelin, Stones, Beatles, Hendrix, Doors, etc. Long-players fully-tracked every midnight.
