The WFME standards are a global expert consensus on the standards for medical schools and other providers of medical education throughout the continuum of medical education and training: Basic Medical Education (BME), Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

World Directory of Medical Schools is a free, searchable directory of world's undergraduate medical education programs. It is maintained by FAIMER and WFME.

The aim of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) is to enhance the quality of medical education worldwide. WFME works with doctors, educators and universities worldwide through its six member regional associations of medical education, which form the WFME Executive Council .

Recognition Status is awarded by WFME to an accrediting agency working to an internationally accepted high standard, and confers the understanding that the quality of accreditation of undergraduate medical schools is to an appropriate and rigorous standard.
