May 26, 2022 · A 720p BluRay might be better than a 1080p WEB-DL in quality.. that really depends on how things got prepared and transcoded for the bluray or the streaming site. Personally, I think some DVDs are of higher quality than 1080p web stuff, because it was simply upscaled. So I would not say you can simply tell the quality by those two things.

Based on what I know this means its a HBO Max WEB-DL enconded using x264(higher file size) and with E-AC-3(DolbyDigitalPlus) sound. This all sounds good, I check the bitrate in the torrent info and it says "Overall bit rate: 9 905 kb/s". Great!

Oct 26, 2023 · Also web-dl puts the video through an extra encode pass by the web site or whoever the web site got the video from. Every encode pass lowers quality, sometimes drastically. I would choose 4K Remux, 1080p Remux, 4k web-dl, 1080p web-dl, in that order.
