2016年7月19日 · Although viridian is more lightfast and permanent than phthalo green, phthalo green is the most lightfast of all organic pigments and good enough for outdoor use where the pigment will retain its color for longer than the medium it’s mixed into will survive, so there’s no commercial need for viridian. (Also, phthalo green is probably at ...
Viridian Green ?? Some advice needed Please
2015年9月8日 · I use pthalo green blue shade in all of my landscape paintings, which is very close to viridian in hue but many times more powerful in both color intensity and tinting strength. I mix a much small amount of phthalo green with a larger amount of yellow ochre to mix a yellowish green (one that has very good opacity), and then use that mixture to ...

2012年3月10日 · Maimeri Classico does not have a Viridian as you mentioned, but does have a Phthalo Green. Van Gogh student grade oils has a Viridian Hue consisting of Phthalo Green and Brown Ochre. Georgian also has a Viridian Hue that is Phthalo Green. Probably every or nearly every artist grade line has a true Viridian, which is pigment PG18.
Viridian vs. Windor Green - WetCanvas: Online Living for Artists
2008年4月14日 · The choice between a pthalo or viridian isn’t much of a choice. Viridian is much easier to handle (ie. won’t become the overwhelming troublemaker that pthalo tends toward). Another alternative is permanent green. I have a big tube of viridian and a small tube of permanent green ( both Winsor Newton artist grade).
Viridian Sap Green - WetCanvas: Online Living for Artists
2007年5月18日 · Sap Green is easier to use and more natural for most foliage, but it’s much lower chroma means you won’t get the great mixing potential/versatility as Phthalo Greens or Viridian. If you want to dull down Sap Green towards neutral, it isn’t true that any other color will do. But since it’s duller to begin with, your choice of mixing ...
Making Viridian or Phthalo Green from Sap green
2011年4月20日 · If it is a saturated Sap Green then I’d lower the saturation of the Sap Green with something like Dioxazine Violet and mix with Ultramarine Blue or even better because the Viridian color would be closer to Ultramarine Blue I’d lower the saturation of Ultramarine Blue with Burnt Umber and add the Sap Green to that.

2003年2月18日 · Starting with either phthalo green or Viridian with any yellows or yellow earths is also worth exploring. All the ranges above can be easily modified to suit, their hue shifted with touches of Viridian or phthalo green, dulled with reds, siennas, umbers or grey. They can all be lightened with white and/or more yellow.
Mixing a really dark green - WetCanvas: Online Living for Artists
2018年7月22日 · The viridian green reminds me too much of pine trees in the distance, and seems to be the wrong color for this frog – particulary in view of the colors already used. In the photo, the dark black-green has a depth and richness to it. If I just add black to a green, it might make that part of the painting look flat.
No "Viridian"?? - WetCanvas: Online Living for Artists
2001年8月1日 · Viridian Green Pigment does not really like to be in a waterbased acrylic in terms of shelf life. Mixing the pigment into an acrylic and using it fairly quickly is the best method, but I doubt you’ll see a true Viridian Green in a premade acrylic unless there is some breakthrough. Real Prussian Blue is only made by Liquitex (in acrylics).

2011年3月17日 · If your “Viridian” is a hue it is basically Phthalo Green. If it is the real Viridian expect less staining and some granulation. Other than that I would think you could adjust the mixtures to be satisfactory. I would try a small “study” to experiment with the mixtures for determining the possible match to value, chroma and hue.
