To work properly and compatibly with VHS-C adapters, a VCR needs to have a better-than-average loading mechanism that can handle the adapter, and a drive mechanism that senses the extra drag and compensates without issues.

2012年10月25日 · I have tons of VHS-C tapes to transfer for various relatives and hate putting them in my good JVC and Panny VCRs with those adapter shells. (And playing them through a VHS-C camcorder isn't acceptable, because I've yet to find one that has stereo outputs.) So a VCR that could accept VHS-C's as they are would be a wonderful purchase.

Having a "quick and cheap" VHS capture system work well is 90% luck and 10% personal taste. Some people luck out, and feel they obtain adequate results with just an EZcap and any random VCR.

This is one format where it's always wise to seek out a service using an AG-1980 and a JVC metal adapter. With S-VHS-C cams as backup players. Anybody that says otherwise is a fool and/or liar. I've seen far too many damaged VHS-C tapes. Heed my warning.
