Patrol Squadron 92 (VP-92) is a former U.S. Navy Reserve patrol squadron. Established on 1 November 1970, it was disestablished on 17 October 2007. It was the second squadron to be designated VP-92, the first VP-92 was redesignated VPB-92 on 1 October 1944. [1]

VP-92 was formed at NAS South Weymouth, Massachusetts on November 14th, 1970 to provide a fully manned and equipped RESFORON patrol squadron flying the Lockheed SP-2H "NEPTUNE".

Patrol Squadron 92 (VP-92) was established on 14 November 1970 at NAS South Weymouth, Massachusetts as a component of the Naval Air Reserve. Its primary missions were those of land-based maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare (ASW).

Patrol Squadron NINE TWO (VP-92), commanded by CDR Kevin Sinnett, was commissioned on 14 November 1970 to provide a fully manned and equipped patrol squadron flying the Lockheed SP-2H "Neptune". Four years later, this aircraft was replaced by the Lockheed P-3A "ORION" resulting in a significant increase in platform capability.

VPB-92 was a Patrol Bombing Squadron of the U.S. Navy. The squadron was established as Patrol Squadron 92 (VP-92) on 26 December 1941, redesignated as Patrol Bombing Squadron 92 (VPB-91) on 1 October 1944 and disestablished on 28 May 1945.
