2022年10月7日 · As others have mentioned, Unimat had supplied WW collet adaptors for the Unimat three and four , but they are very hard to find. However, the Sherline adaptor and drawbar can be very easily adapted to a Unimat three providing the same mounting procedure and accuracy. as the factory adaptors.

Having Unimat III in my workshop already, with all the tooling for it, I wanted to get maximum out of it that is possible without replacing it, hence making the B8 collet adapter.

2006年10月15日 · Counting the Unimat as a lathe/mill, I have five lathes and three mills, plus I ran lathes and mills for 30 years at Caterpillar Tractor co. I have most all attachments for all of the equipment (although I don’t know why, I just like to buy tools). In my experience and opinion the Unimat is toy-like compared to the Sherlines.

I have already spend a fortune on getting the Unimat to function as a watchmaker's lathe by importing a watchmaker's spindle and new motor. I can buy a Unimat 5 with vertical column locally for about $2500. I am however not sure if this lathe will be ideal for gear cutting.

2012年9月18日 · In addition to the Lathe, I would suggest the X Y Z axis mill minus the headstock (transfer headstock from Lathe) if money is an issue or the complete mill not an issue for all drilling and milling. The additional purchase of the Mill will allow you to develop the skills to construct a movement from bar stock making any repair possible.

2017年1月26日 · First, Unscrew the hand wheels and push the slides forward until the lead screw ends clear the castings. From this point , remove the guide rods, lift out the slides and unscrew the leadscrews from the slides. If you Google "Unimat SL exploded View" it will show where the guide rod lock screws are located. Jerry Kieffer

2005年7月27日 · The Unimat comes in two basic flavors.. the DB200/SL1000 which are similar and the Unimat 3. The DB200/SL100 lathes had rod for the cross slide to ride on and were on either a cast iron or Zamac (aluminum) bed (depending on age).
