Fedex is now requiring the use of the “Radioactive Material, Excepted Package” on the outside of the package. The UN Identification Number “2910” should be written on the label on the line next to the “UN”.

Limited quantities of radioactive materials can be identifi ed by the markings: UN2908, UN2909, UN2910, or UN2911. If these packages are to be shipped by air, they will have a “Radioactive materials, Excepted Package” label. Most radioactive materials packages contain radioactive drugs that are being transported to hospitals.
