The School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt (the SSMV) seeks highly-competent and motivated 8th grade Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) high school students who are: interested in becoming tomorrow’s leaders. *Per MNPS policy, students must attend district-operated high schools in order to be eligible for the SSMV.

The School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt (SSMV) is a free, integrative four‐year program that pairs a select 26 students per grade with Vanderbilt Ph.D. instructors throughout the academic year and summer.

About the SSMV. The SSMV curriculum connects sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through meaningful and engaging hands-on exploration with increasing depth and independence. During the academic year, students attend SSMV classes on the Vanderbilt campus one full day per week.

2016年5月5日 · Twenty‐six students from thirteen area middle schools have been selected for the School for Science and Math Class of 2020. Students were selected from over 160 applicants on the basis of test scores, grades, personal essays, teacher recommendations, and in‐person interviews. These students are the tenth cohort to begin the program.
