2004年4月30日 · South London Accent is a lower middle class accent, with some distinctive word borrowing from Cockney English. Sounds a little like liverpool to me but with a clearer more distinct pronunciation. (Lillipudian?) There is also a Black South African Accent which is even easier to understand. It is near the Cockney Area of London, too.

2009年9月15日 · I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Estuary English, which is broadly spoken in East London, South Essex, South East London and North Kent. This accent bridges the north/south gap, but is a pretty neutral accent on the whole and most people from outside South East England would struggle to place it.

2003年8月12日 · London accents I hate - most of those on Eastenders. I'm assuming that this is the true cockney accent (although, of course, some of the actors/actresses will be putting it on). Also can't stand the chirpy London/Estuary accents of television presenters like Michael Barrymore or Jonathan Ross!

The American accents of the U.S. interior (including "General American") are derived from 17 century English and cannot be easily compared with any accents heard in England today where the London accent has been taking over and erasing earlier accents.
