Smoked salmon, aka my Philadelphia Roll is a no-go - The Bump
(Refrigerated smoked seafod such as salmon, trout, whitefish, cod, etc). These types of fish are found in the refrigerator section or sold at deli counters of grocery stores and delicatessens. The threat is from Listeria. My OB said if I heated up my sushi in the microwave to the point where the salmon is steaming then I could eat it.....

Prior to getting pregnant, I pretty much lived on sushi. I love it!! Obviously, I know that I'm supposed to limit some fish intake and completely avoid others. However, is any sushi safe to eat while pregnant? For example, can I have California rolls, spider rolls, or Philadelphia rolls (where the salmon is not raw, but smoked)????

Most of the places we are finding are brunch heavy and I am not a fan of breakfast food. It doesn't have to be strictly vegetarian. I am happy to have meat but the lunch offerings for most of these brunch places are things like smoked salmon, antipasto platters with cold cuts, and sushi, none of which I can eat while pregnant.

My favorite sushi place (where, embarrisingly the husband and I are known by name) actually prepare my sushi completely away from where they keep the raw fish. They are veyr understanding and I'm prety sure we pay their rent so they're happy to accomodate (it was actually their idea to prepare my non-fishy sushi in a seperate location).

2012年1月1日 · Don't worry. Worst case, you'd get food poisoning. Seriously you have nothing to worry about. Second pregnancy and I've thrown nearly all the rules out the window. I've continued to eat sushi. Bad? Maybe. But I haven't gotten sick and baby is just fine. So really. Don't worry.

2012年8月6日 · If you cooked them until they steamed you don't need to worry about listeria. You'd be more likely to get listeria from eating unwashed fruit than you would from meat you've heated at home.
