2014年10月19日 · Calf skin and cordovan crease differently. As Joel said, calf has sharper, and more numerous "micro" creases. The short way to put it is that calf "creases" and cordovan "ripples". 2012年3月5日 · I bought a pair of AE MacNeils in burgundy (ok...oxblood) during their fall sale and they are great looking and comfortable - my favorite shoes. I just went back and bought the matching belt in shell cordovan last week. Next year I am going for a 2nd pair in black. I think they will last forever - worth the extra $$ if you can swing it.

You are correct that adding another $100-$150 for cordovan would be about right with a large Horween shell at $300-$375 (plus Horween's $30+ shipping charges) and maybe getting 2 or 3 strops from it not counting any additional profit for taking a risk on receiving an unusable shell beyond the profit …

2018年6月27日 · Shell Cordovan is horseleather made from the fibrous flat muscle beneath the hide on the butt of the horse. It is more than a tad spendy. Horween is the company (arguably the best) which makes a lot of cordovan leather. Cordovan draw is really fast.
