SRPK1 enables angiogenesis, which is regulated by VEGF, which either initiates or inhibits vessel formation depending on alternative splicing. Some cancers are vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) dependant (for angiogenesis). SRPK1 activates (phosphorylates) VEGF splicing factor.
