ROSELITE (Hydrated Calcium Cobalt Magnesium Arsenate)
Roselite is a popular, although scarce, collection mineral. Its color and small, complex crystals are attractive and make roselite a nice thumbnail mineral. Roselite is in a solid solution series with the mineral wendwilsonite, (Hydrated Calcium Magnesium Cobalt Arsenate).
Roselite
Isolated crystals of magnesian Roselite. They are translucent, very well defined, have a very intense, deep and uniform color and are on matrix with Dolomite, Calcite, dark spheroidal aggregates of cuprian Cobaltaustinite and small isolated crystals of Cobaltlotharmeyerite.

Roselite (sometimes called alpha-roselite to distinguish it from its triclinic dimorph, beta-roselite) is a rare cobalt arsenate from the oxidation zone of cobalt arsenide deposits. Roselite owes its name to the mineralogist Gustave Rose of the University of Berlin.

4 天之前 · The dense coverage of roselite essentially covers the entire front of the elongate triangular piece of matrix and the crystals display prominently. Roselite is a hydrated calcium-cobalt arsenate and is the cobalt analogue of wendwilsonite; the two often occur together and may do so on this piece.
