Apr 20, 2020 · I've not tried this myself, but based on other (much older, for the 3DS version) guides to RF4, you could use multiple Double Steel (or 10-fold Steel), but only once per upgrade-item. So with the base armour, Diamond -> Double Steel -> Amethyst (or whatever) -> Double Steel works, but Diamond -> Double Steel -> Double Steel does not.

Not really a fault for rf4, which is why i didnt put it under the list of rf4 cons, but i just prefer the more realistic look of rf5. This, for me, especially comes from crops, food items, monster drops, 3d character models, etc. Preferred the 3d view of rf5 as compared to rf4's 2d view, but again thats just my preference.

There are several points in the game when you're really going to feel the difficulty spike, and unless you want to rely on tamed bosses, which to be fair is a completely viable strategy, you're going to need to be able to craft and upgrade gear...which leads me to point number two which I sort of already ...

Feb 26, 2020 · Lvl10 Turnip Seeds are the cheapest and most accessible early lvl10 item you can get to upgrade with (otherwise you have to find and save other lvl10 things like grass and lumber, or create lvl10 trash equips by upgrading them with junk ie tedious). For more information, please look up a forging guide because RF4 forging is pretty complicated.
