CCL5 - Wikipedia
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 5 (also CCL5) is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CCL5 gene. [5] . The gene has been discovered in 1990 by in situ hybridisation and it is localised on 17q11.2-q12 chromosome. [6] It is also known as RANTES (r egulated on a ctivation, n ormal T -cell e xpressed and s ecreted).
RANTES: a versatile and controversial chemokine - Cell Press
2001年2月1日 · The activity of the chemokine RANTES is not restricted merely to chemotaxis. It is a powerful leukocyte activator, a feature potentially relevant in a range of inflammatory disorders. RANTES has attracted attention because it can potently suppress and, in some circumstances, enhance HIV replication.

2007年2月27日 · We learn now from Wu and colleagues 10 in this issue of Circulation that T cells and the chemokine CCL5/regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES) are also increased in WAT in the setting of murine and human obesity (Figure).
RANTES - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
RANTES is the ligand that binds to the CCR5 receptor (C-C chemokine receptor type 5), the receptor originally identified as binding to the HIV. The primary role for RANTES appears to be in regulating the movement of cells during immune/ inflammatory responses.
RANTES - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
RANTES (regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted), one of the natural ligands for CCR5, is a broadly active inhibitor of macrophage infection by R5 HIV-1 isolates.

RANTES (regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted) is a chemokine implicated in atherosclerosis. Increasing evidence supports the involvement of inflammation in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis.

(D) The regulated upon activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES) chemokine was robustly induced by all 3 products; under inflamed culture conditions, the products triggered a mild increase in the LPS-induced levels of RANTES, which was the strongest for the germinated spores. Statistical comparisons are shown in the tables below ...
