The RTHS school calendar consists of approximately 180 days over a nine-month schedule. These days are divided into instructional days, Digital Learning days, in which students work from home. In addition, teachers meet weekly on Friday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. in their Learning Teams for collaborative planning and evaluation.

Research Triangle High School, commonly abbreviated RTHS, is a charter school with a STEM focus located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The school opened in August 2012 with an initial class of 160 freshmen, and now enrolls approximately 590 students in grades 9–12.
