The USB dongles sold for ADS-B often have RF band-pass filtering to block out interference from other frequency bands, possibly as part of an added LNA RF front-end. Those models may or may not be suitable for use on amateur bands (without circuit modification).

2022年9月11日 · R820T doesn't do HF. You are talking about a tuner bypass. The alternartive is a upconverter in front of the tuner. There are also some "hacks" to make the tuner pass on the signal, but they are of less interest.

2014年12月19日 · I did a quick R820T vs R820T2 test on ADS-B with the same antenna through a splitter and found that they were almost the same, The R820T2 is supposedly 2 - 6dB more sensitive than the vanilla R820T. A splitter has at least 3.5dB of loss. This is why they were "almost the same".

2017年4月7日 · I'm looking for an alternative to the R820T2 for "cheap radios". A little known fact is that the R820T2 is not even regularly produced any more. The chip is produced by Rafael Micro on a per-request basis. The RTL-SDR type dongles are cheap for now - pretty much all of the components used to produce them are commodity parts, minus the R820T(2).
