PAX6 - Wikipedia
Paired box protein Pax-6, also known as aniridia type II protein (AN2) or oculorhombin, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PAX6 gene. [5] Fruitflies lacking the PAX6 gene have no eyes. PAX6 is a member of the Pax gene family which is responsible for carrying the genetic information that will encode the Pax-6 protein.

PAX6 gene - MedlinePlus
The PAX6 gene belongs to a family of genes that play a critical role in the formation of tissues and organs during embryonic development. The members of the PAX gene family are also important for maintaining the normal function of certain cells after birth.
PAX6 - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
PAX6 is a key transcription factor involved in brain development and has crucial roles in eye formation and brain development. It regulates the expression of many genes during corticogenesis and is responsible for balancing the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem/progenitor cells.
Thirty Years’ History since the Discovery of Pax6: From Central …
Pax6 is a sequence-specific DNA binding transcription factor that positively and negatively regulates transcription and is expressed in multiple cell types in the developing and adult central nervous system (CNS). As indicated by the morphological ...
Mutually regulated expression of Pax6 and Six3 and its …
Interactions between orthologous genes from the Pax and Six families have been identified in Drosophila and vertebrate species, and we examined the control of Pax6 and Six3 gene expression in the developing mouse lens.
Pax6: A multi-level regulator of ocular development
2012年9月1日 · The transcription factor Pax6 has been shown to play a key role in each of these processes. Pax6 is required for initiation of developmental pathways, patterning of epithelial tissues, activation of tissue-specific genes and interaction with other regulatory pathways.
