Polychlorotrifluoroethylene - Wikipedia
Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE or PTFCE) is a thermoplastic chlorofluoropolymer with the molecular formula (CF 2 CClF) n, where n is the number of monomer units in the polymer molecule. It is similar to polytetrafluoroethene (PTFE), except that it is a homopolymer of the monomer chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE) instead of tetrafluoroethene.
PCTFE - Afton Plastics | MN
Chlorine and fluorine in the middle of this unique fluoropolymer contribute to its high compressive strength, low deformation under load and stability within a wide thermal range. PCTFE was developed and manufactured by the 3M Company under the brand name of Kel-F®.
What is PCTFE? Properties & Uses of PCTFE Plastic | AFT Fluorotec
PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene) is a thermoplastic chlorofluoropolymer that exhibits a range of exceptional mechanical properties. It is a homopolymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE) and shares similarities with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), albeit with distinct characteristics.
PCTFE Kel-F®, Neoflon® Cryogenic Applications & Material …
PCTFE (polychlorotrifluoroethylene), commonly referred to as Kel-F® or Neoflon®, is a fluoropolymer material with outstanding strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability. PCTFE has excellent chemical resistance, radiation resistance, and flammability characteristics.
PCTFE vs PTFE - A Comparison of Two Very Similar Polymers
Oct 5, 2020 · Although not well known, PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene) forms an ideal substitute for PTFE in certain applications where PTFE is unable to perform adequately. The table below is meant to offer a snapshot comparison of the two, such that any application engineer can evaluate the key differences.
PCTFE | High-Performance Plastics | PBY Plastics
PolyCloroTriFluoroEthylene (PCTFE) is a melt-processable homopolymer in which one fluorine atom of the PTFE structure is substituted by a chlorine atom. This atom replacement gives some advantages to PCTFE such as transparency, lower gas permeability, and higher mechanical strength to the detriment of a higher coefficient of friction over PTFE.
Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) | Formula, Properties
Polychlorotrifluoroethylene, commonly known as PCTFE, is a high-performance thermoplastic that belongs to the family of halogenated polymers. Notably, this synthetic fluoropolymer uniquely combines the physical properties of both plastics and rubbers.
PCTFE Properties - Fluorotherm™
PCTFE or CTFE (originally known as Kel-F*) has many of the properties similar to other fluoropolymers such as PTFE, FEP or PFA, but is mechanically superior in rigidity (does not deform easily), and has very low gas permeability .
Polychlorotrifluoroethylene | Formula, Properties & Application
Polychlorotrifluoroethylene, or PCTFE, is a versatile and highly durable material, offering a unique combination of low permeability, wide temperature tolerance, excellent chemical resistance, and optical clarity.
PCTFE Material | What is PCTFE? - AFT Fluorotec
PCTFE is a unique fluoropolymer that is capable of maintaining its physical properties at exceptionally low operating temperatures. It absorbs virtually no moisture, meaning it offers great dimensional stability, and maintains its electrical properties in a high humidity environment.
