Hello, I have a 95 olds aurora, and it keeps overheating, then shutting down. I just had an oil change because the car kept reading low oil pressure, and then I notices that the fan was out that cooled the engine, and I was told that it was the temperature coolant sensor, so I replaced that, but it's still overheating!!!

My Aurora has been to 3 Olds dealers in the last 3 years for diagnosis to correct a lope, or missfire when driving 35-40 mph. the car runs great and gets 17mpg. in town and 27 on the hi-way. The problem started @ 55,000 mi. and still has it @ 87,000 mi.

I have a 3.5 Liter 2002 Olds Aurora. The surface of the steering wheel has become worn with use and is now a bit of an eyesore. It appears to be a covering (leather?) that is stitched on. Can the cover simply be replaced or is this a situation where the entire steering wheel has to be replaced?

A lot of things on the Aurora are expensive to fix. 2 - if you really like chrome wheels, you can get a set of the chrome 17's that come on the new Aurora 4.0. Check out the photo gallery for a picture of my 98 with the 2001+ Aurora chrome alloy 17's. It's very cool. With Olds center caps it might be around $900 - tax and all.

Note it has been four years since you posted your problem and hope I can be of some help. Like yourself have a 2001 Olds Aurora with 3.5 engine. Have exactly same problem as you described; occassional hard shifts, check engine light coming on with transmission codes, occassional whine from transmission.

My Aurora, after reaching normal operating temp, begins to chime & low oil pressure light comes on at low idle, goes away as soon as I increase the rpm's to about 1,000. I've replaced the oil pressure sending unit,..this problem began right after a GM dealership removed & rebuilt the heads due to excessive oil leaks.

J, Replacing spark plug wires on the Aurora classic is not as hard as it looks at first, but it does take some time and patience. I have done the replacement once and am considering it again soon (the 100,000 mile interval claimed by GM is wishful thinking for the majority of us).

I just aquired my fathers 1995 OLDS AURORA. It has 177000 highway miles. Just recently, the transmision is now stuck in second gear while in drive, and will not shift up into any other gear rendering the car undriveable. My local dealer estimates the repair of anywheres from $400to$4000 dollars to repair.
