Knowledge about the life and works of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart is constantly growing. For decades, the International Mozarteum Foundation has been systematically collecting and evaluating information on musical sources and historical documents.

Welcome to the concerts of the Mozarteum Foundation: Our unique Great Hall, the musical heart of Salzburg, is shining in new splendour after intensive renovation phases and can once again be experienced throughout, which is why we are reviving two wonderful traditions: the celebrated Master Concerts and the Organ at Noon series.

2026 ist ein Mozartjahr mit zwei großen Jubiläen: Wolfgang Amadé Mozart hat seinen 270. Geburtstag und das weltweit bedeutendste Mozart-Festival, die Salzburger Mozartwoche, feiert sein 70-jähriges Bestehen. Die Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum zelebriert diese besonderen Anlässe mit einer Neuproduktion von Mozarts Oper Die Zauberflöte.

Harnoncourt und die Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum Seit 1881 ist die Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum die Bewahrerin von Mozarts Erbe. In der von ihr seit 1956 veranstalteten Mozartwoche kommen jährlich führende Musikschaffende nach Salzburg. Diese Erfolgsgeschichte ist eng mit Nikolaus Harnoncourt verbunden.

The former “Tanzmeisterhaus”, now run by the International Mozarteum Foundation as the Mozart Residence, provided the Mozart family with a spacious ambience from 1773, with an eight-room apartment on the second floor.

Sie unterhalten u.a. Dokumente zur Geschichte der Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg seit der Gründung, Gemälde und Graphiken von Mozart und seinen Zeitgenossen, Bühnenbildmodelle, Entwurfszeichnungen und Theaterzettel, Programme, Plakate und Zeitungsausschnitte sowie ein Fotoarchiv mit der weltweit größten Fotosammlung rund um Mozart.

Die Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum zelebriert diese besonderen Anlässe mit einer Neuproduktion von Mozarts Oper Die Zauberflöte. Intendant Rolando Villazón inszeniert, Roberto González-Monjas dirigiert das Mozarteumorchester Salzburg .
