John Corben, mostly known as Metallo, is a major antagonist in the DC Universe, serving as a major antagonist in the Superman franchise and media. He is a con artist/ex-solider who was rebuilt with a cybernetic body following a fatal accident, subsequently using his new abilities to become a supervillain and mercenary.

Metallo was taken to a cave where he was briefly interrogated by Green Lantern. At first he refused to talk, but Lantern pointed out that without his Kryponite heart, his body would shut down within the next few minutes, even seconds.
