MS-05 扎古Ⅰ（Origin）（Zaku Ⅰ（Gundam The Origin Ver.））是出现在《机动战士高达THE ORIGIN》中的MS-05A扎古Ⅰ（先期生产型），是吉翁尼克公司在MS-04布古的基础上，做了降低成本和提升生产性改造后得到的机型。

ms-05的驾驶舱设置在机体的重心附近，由于开发出了高性能电脑，因此只需一名驾驶员便可完成全部的操作；出于密封的需要，驾驶舱内没有任何窗口，驾驶员只能依靠电视屏幕来进行具体的操作。

0077年10月，该型机开始大规模量产，至大战结束为止，共生产了793架，绝大多数配给了教导机动大队使用，是一年战争初期的主力ms，通称为“旧扎古”。

原型机MS-04之后，UC0074开发了装甲机动步兵MS-05，俗称渣古（有一种说法认为俗称是吉翁空军司令部的缩写）。不过在正式采用这架飞机的时候，竞品厂商Tsimat的EMS-04 Zuda作为竞品提交了比赛（机号的第一个符号E已经给了Zeonic的原型开发机。
