Born and raised in Stokke, Norway, Davidsen has been profiled in a full-length documentary for NRK, a Strauss film for the National Opera as well as appearing on major radio and television programmes such as Lindmo and Skavland.

On February 1st 2024, Lise will make her debut at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, singing Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder with The Met Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Lise recorded the Wesendonck Lieder for her 2021 album “Beethoven Wagner Verdi”, but this is the first time she has sung them with The Met Orchestra.

Operavision will be streaming the beautiful short film “LISE” to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024. It will be available on Friday March 8th, at 1900 CET (and afterwards for 6 months on demand).

Lise Davidsen makes her greatly anticipated return to the Metropolitan Opera, starring as Eva in Wagner's enchanting Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Taking the Met stage for the first time in seven years, Wagner's sublime comedy is paired with a marvelous production by Otto Schenk, with sets designed by Günther Schneider-Siemssen.

Lise is back in Vienna for her stage debut as Ellen Orford in Britten’s Peter Grimes, a Christine Mielitz production, opening at the Vienna State Opera on January 26th 2022 and runs until February 8th.

This summer, Lise Davidsen returns to the Bayreuth Festival to star in two productions: Wagner's Die Walküre and Tannhäuser. She will reprise her role as Elisabeth in Tobias Kratzer's production of Tannhäuser on July 27, August 2, 5, 13, 16, & 23 .

Lise will be singing Elisabeth in Tannhäuser at the Berlin state opera house in April and May 2023. This will be her first staged opera production at Berlin Staatsoper. Elisabeth is one of Lise’s signature roles.
