The London and South Western Railway T9 class is a class of 66 4-4-0 steam locomotive designed for express passenger work by Dugald Drummond and introduced to services on the LSWR in 1899. One example has been preserved after British Railways ownership.

Between 1922 and 1929 Urie rebuilt the T9 class locomotives with superheaters, larger diameter cylinders and higher pressure boilers.

Four Years later, he would introduce his most famous design, the T9. This was a 52 ton 4-4-0 express locomotive with 6ft 7in driving wheels & a top speed exceeding 80 mph & were even recorded as reaching as fast as 90-95.

Of all of Dugald Drummond's designs for the LSWR his T9 express passenger class could probably be described as his most successful. They were popular with their crews and nicknamed "greyhounds" due to their sprightly acceleration.

The LSWR T9 Class is a class of 4-4-0 steam locomotives built in 1899 for passenger service. Intended for passenger work in South-West England, 66 were built of which saw several improvements throughout their career. They operated until 1963 when the last (and sole survivor) 30120 was withdrawn.

The original ‘narrow’ series of Dugald Drummond’s celebrated T9 4-4-0s for the LSWR. A total of 51 locomotives were built by Dubs & Co. and at Nine Elms Works between 1899 and 1901. 15 'wide' cab locomotives were built at Nine Elms Works in 1901.
