As described above, one could naturally toggle it via a command line or option, but that is a lot more work to get right and as it is done now, the both applications are still from the user perspective cleanly separated, own command line programs, etc.

2023年11月3日 · I really enjoy using kwrite on my laptop (running fedora). i use it for light text editing. it's very pretty/modern-looking, snappy, and it has tabs. kate is available for windows, but kate isn't exactly the same as kwrite. i don't need an embedded terminal, lsp, etc. is there any way to run kwrite on windows outside of wsl?

2022年3月25日 · KWrite is a simple SDI program without any plugins and whistles. Kate is a full fledged MDI editor like Atom/Code/.... I use KWrite to e.g. open some logs or pipe some stuff into. I use Kate for daily development. KWrite is a very small wrapper around KTextEditor, therefore this needs minimal effort to be kept around.
