Koh Bon is one of the smaller islands of the Similans archipelago but offers stunning stretches of white sand beaches and even better diving spots. The island has no accommodation on it and is therefore only reachable via daytrip from one of the other Similan Islands .

Bon Island (or Koh Bon) is located just south of Rawai Beach in Phuket and is just a short longtail boat ride away. A few sandy beaches pepper the coast of this tiny island, and despite being so close to Phuket, it is not too busy with tourists.

Koh Bon is one of Thailand’s best locations for spotting manta rays (Koh Tachai, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang probably get just as many mantas). Day trips to possible to Kon Bon, speedboats depart from Khao Lak, but it’s better to dive by liveaboard boat.

The only way to travel to Koh Bon is on a diving or snorkel boat that offers day trips or liveaboard cruises. There are no public ferries.

Koh Bon is an isolated inlet north of the Similan Islands. Most of the Similan liveaboards will moor in the bay of Ko Bon, Where they can get away from any strong winds. If you look directly at Koh Bon from the bay you will see an oval opening submerging from the sea.
