Aug 21, 2020 · KNS adj piston works great for overgassed guns/standard AKMs. Now, for suppressing use, it is great at getting it to function like an unsuppressed AK OR even at the limit of cycling, but there's still plenty of soot and gas to go around....where it reaches the recoil spring hole in the top cover, and around the edges of the top cover to the receiver.

In my experience, the value of the KNS piston has nothing to do with having a suppressor. My M70 was unbearable gassy with a suppressor. I installed a KNS piston and it was the same. Even with the gas dialed back to the point that it wouldn't cycle, there was still way too much gas. Only a low back pressure silencer fixed it.

Jul 21, 2023 · I used the large bore AGP A3 piston, so you could check that out of you want to see how it runs. With the Bulgarian booster I usually run between 7-13 clicks out from closed depending on the weather that day. When suppressing with my wolverine I usually do 30 clicks out. The Sam7k, KNS piston and Wolverine are an excellent match for each other.

May 16, 2021 · Na.. KNS piston fully closed is less gas than stock piston. I learned that when I tried to run subsonic ammo out of 16" barrel. With KNS piston fully closed it was undergassed but with stock piston it ran fine. I only run KNS pistons on guns that I run supressed. In my opinion you just need another Ak47 😁.
