2016年3月23日 · My new k50 showed very dark pictures when taken thru the viewfinder, and then a second later repeat the exact same picture, not even moving the camera,nor more making any adjustment, and view it thru live view and the picture is fine. Auto, scene, or manual, does not matter, dark thru viewfinder, good thru live view.

2020年6月18日 · A broken K50 (only if the solenoid is damaged) would cost you $ 80 +/- and then you do not really know it it is the mainboard. A used K5 is not much more expensive and as you can sell the K50 it brings you that money in. My suggestion! The K5 is really great for manual lenses. Only drawback: Live-View has no focus-peaking!

2023年2月18日 · The Pentax K50 is a solid, satisfying camera, its sensor is capable of excellent results but it is still lacking a bit in terms of focus speed. Even though I really like this camera, I'd never recommend it where shooting video is a must, while for photo-oriented tasks I'd say it's still very good in spite of it being 4 years old.

2017年2月22日 · This can be applied to other cameras than K50/500 but the placement of screws can be a little bit different. In general it is the same for all models - you just have to be observant when looking for the screws. So my approach uses an old but fully functional K100D (If you have an old camera gathering dust you can try a similar approach).

2015年9月28日 · The K50 came with a Li battery but I purchased a pair of cheap Chinese battery holders so that I had the flexibility to use 4 AA batteries as well. I did this because I have a large number of Eneloop batteries that I did not want to waste.

2022年8月7日 · I purchased the K50 when they first came out. I really liked it. About three years ago, shutter count less than 20,000, the aperture solenoid failed. Sent it off to Precision Camera for repair. Cost about $200 roughly. Late last year it failed again (Shutter count 26,618).

2021年3月31日 · My trusty K50 has recently developed a problem: The camera control of the iris has stopped functioning, leaving the lens totally shut down to the smallest iris setting. The camera thinks it has access to it, and shows the exposure meter happily flashing away, but the photos all come out almost black.

2014年10月24日 · I upgraded from my old K10 to a K50 in June, and have really enjoyed the new (lighter) camera. However 2 weeks ago the pictures I took turned out virtually black - confirmed when you hit the Live View button - indicating an issue with the sensors.
