It does this for a JY 15 however these can both easily be applied to the JY 14. The material is called SeaDeck and I think it is one of the best additions to make to the boat. I love it.

When that happened, those boats being affected did correspond to the lots of material wherein the formulation had been changed without authorization. Both JY and Hunter had filed legal action.

Aug 22, 2017 · The biggest issue is when the manufacturers changed forumualtion of the ACP materials without any notice to JY and later Hunter (Hunter bought out JY and later moved the company to Florida to a controlled environment) which caused cracking. When that happened, cracks could be seen, many of the boats being repairable.

Apr 4, 2011 · Everyone is probably scared to comment. But, I have seen cracking in those boats that have that construction method. I also saw a 216 with a Hobie float atop the mast. Does that mean it is tender? J Boats first had their JY line of daysailors built by the same method and they had terrible cracking problems.

Jul 23, 2000 · Happy Birthday, Megan! First off, the Hunter 90, Hunter 140, and JY15 are all made out of a material that is supposed to be 8 times more durable than fiberglass. This is a "plus" to me. I sail a Hunter 140, although mine was made by JY Sailboats.

May 26, 2020 · Dyer Dhows are a good platform too. They are easily handled. But, it's a little small for two and a bit too heavy to use as a tender. Puffer looks pretty good but I can't recall ever seeing one on the water. I don't know the minifish. JY 14 are fun to sail and can work for two people but I don't think you could call them "Car top."
