Nov 9, 2008 · Tonight I hooked up my JBL 62 speakers with my Proton D940 receiver after they both sat in the basement in storage since 1994. I was so happy to see/hear them work just as they did when I was a teenager. I pushed them tonight just as hard as I did as a teen, with a peak of 160W per channel to the JBL model 62 8 ohm speakers.

Mar 23, 2016 · Yes there was a tweeter change,the JBL 62 used the titanium laminate TLX-1 tweeter while the JBL 62t used the pure titanium 022Ti tweeter,they also used different crossovers as well (likely due to the tweeter difference) but the woofers were basically the same (306G-4/306G-4A) between the two models.

Apr 10, 2008 · My newest budget speakers, JBL 62T Can anyone tell me about these? I bought them off of eBay for $45. Best 45 dollars I've ever spent! Its a 6 1/2 inch woofer (for size reference) The cabinets are really big and weigh about 19 lbs each. The bass is ludicrous for a 6 1/2 driver. The imaging is top notch. Sep 29, 2021 · Hard to tell. The 2800s were an early acquisition for me and I thought they were very respectable. If I had them today, I would brace the cheap cabinets and look at the damping material. Even JBL turds (not saying these are) sound pretty good as long as they don't sound box-ish, yet there are cures. Do not pay a lot.

Aug 28, 2012 · Ok, long story short I paid $50 for JBL 62T's. The drivers seem to be in great shape. The cabinets are scratched quite a lot and somehow, don't know why there are 4 screws holes with 2 screws in them and each speaker has 2 screws in the back also (not sure if that was user made) although I know the top ones are. They sound ok so far.
