Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB) is a biomedical research centre in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. [1] Established in 1935 as Indian Institute of Experimental Medicine (IIEM), it was inducted under the aegis of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) in 1956 and renamed to its present form in 1982. [1]

The unit is named CSIR-IICB Translational Research Unit of Excellence (TRUE) whose overall mandate is to develop state-of-the-art fundamental innovation and further translate the indigenous innovations into affordable technology.
