Apr 13, 2010 · As for optics...the length of the scope, combined with the size of the bell is the biggest difficulty in mounting a scope to any HK91/G3 type clone rifle, including your PTR-91. Like others have said, the longer the scope, and larger the bell, the more difficult it can make proper operation of the cocking lever.

What I am planning on doing is getting a trigger job, change locking piece and add a suppressor. Which leaves me to my last question. I would like to push the rifle to more of the max distances for the platform.

The 91 is a battle rifle, meant for just throwing metal downrange in a general direction reliably. It may hit the target with decent precision, but it is far from a precision rifle.
