2024年9月3日 · A Gothic Revival-style estate in the center, built in 1840 by Joseph Congdon, was called "Hazelwood." I am told this house may also have served as home to the park supervisor. The Coffin-Howland House, which may contain portions of Congdon's carriage house, suffered fire damage and is fenced off.

Park Pavilions. Reservations for park pavilions can be made at the Community Center. A valid resident card is required. Reservations begin January 2nd for the upcoming summer season and a current year Resident Card is required for reservation.

Hazelwood Park is one of Burnside's major reserves. It is traversed by First Creek and includes natural stands of River Red Gum and SA Blue Gum. Some of the early plantings from the "Hazelwood" garden can be seen near Hawthorn Crescent, including a large Bunya Pine.
