Look at it this way. If I have 1 share of GOEV at $0.10/share (which is roughly the price before the split), total balance is $0.10. Then next day they reversed split 23:1 that means I now have 1/23rd of a share at $2.30/share (0.10X23), but still a $0.10 balance in my account. It works in inverse as well with a normal stock split.
