Jul 27, 2022 · FRAPS was the only FPS counter I found that was working on MSFS, at least until the DX12 update. For some reason that I haven't been able to figure out, the frame rate counter that is part of the AMD Adrenalin software that came with my GPU doesn't work on MSFS.

May 22, 2020 · Fraps won't work with V5, since it is DX12 and Fraps isn't compatible with DX12. Bummer, I used to use it for my videos as well, I use the ATI Radeon's recorder now instead, there is an equivalent NVidia one if you have an NVidia GPU.

Dec 18, 2011 · On top of what CXA001 said...FSrecorder also allows you to "record" in game footage (like how fraps does in .wmv files), so that is a real alternative to using fraps. But by using FSrecorder to film in-game footage...you won't be able to record sound from FSX which is a negative. But I still recommend that you try it out.

I use the Affinity Mask of 14 on my i7 which frees up the 1st core which is where I then set fraps to run on.
