Mar 11, 2023 · On my new Thinkpad I've noticed that when I mute the speakers, a light comes on under the F1 key. I don't like this. It's distracting and confuses my eye making me think the caps lock is on. I've looked in Windows settings, BIOS, and the Lenovo Vantage app but can't find a way to disable. Anyone know of software that can change this?

May 9, 2021 · Funny thing is, I haven't seen the F1-F3 keys turn yellow at all until I started cycling through them while in on-board memory mode. Now when going back to using G Hub to control lighting, the F1 key stays yellow after waking up from sleep.

Feb 28, 2021 · This just started happening within the past day or two - nearly every time I turn on my G915 or wake it from sleep the F1 key will light up yellow and get stuck that way unless I either go into G Hub and arbitrarily mess with the lighting settings or switch to a different profile by pressing one of the other M keys and then switching back.

Apr 21, 2022 · Try pressing FN + F1. This has happened to me too, I think the reason is because you can have multiple profiles saved for the keyboard and the F1 key being lit up a different color indicates the profile you are on right now.

Aug 18, 2021 · When I start up a game, the f1 key lights up. The only thing I could find online was that this was performance mode, but nothing about what it actually does. The only thing I notice is the fans are much louder when this is on. Does anyone know what this does. Also, I have been having frequent frame drops when playing, and I mean pretty bad.

Aug 11, 2023 · By mode i mean the m1, 2 and 3 which is meant for different settings for the f-keys (makros) . You can change them by pressing the fn key and f1, f2 and f3 to change the mods respectevly. The problem of not chaning back to the desired color happens sometimes, but changing it to m2 and back to m1, with the fn + f2/f1, fixes it.
