In my initial test, my thoughts weren’t super positive about the non-black versions of the Ripsticks. However, my opinion has changed with the all-new 2025 version.

Elan has been building these skis for quite a few years now and despite some minor changes, the idea remains the same. Build a ski that is a bit stiffer and a bit quieter that hugs the snow just a bit more than the regular Ripstick.

2019年7月6日 · To make the story shorter - demo about 5 different skis and then tried a friends 181 Elan Ripstick 96 skis. two and a half turns down my favorite warm up run I fell in love again. I bought that pair of 174cm Ripsticks that Ski Essential had up for sale as demos. We had record snow in Feb and love the skis. Haven't skied the black edition.

2021年11月2日 · Tbh if Elan made an 88 Black edition I would have already put in my order. The 96 width seems like an unnecessary compromise for me but there's more talk about the 96 so the optics make it appear to be the more chosen of the two.

2020年2月4日 · I picked up the Black Edition (BE) in a 181 a couple of weeks back and have a few days on them. this is a superb ski it can be serious or a ton-o-fun depending on how you ski it. It has a even, moderate flex in the tip, stiff underfoot and a moderate + flex in the tail. I mounted them with Elan attack 13 demos.

2019年11月30日 · Without having a current Ripstick 96 to compare this ski against, I am assuming it is a new mold. (We might see a correction here if I am wrong). This new RC measures 135-94-110 in a published 180cm length where the current Ripstick 96 is a 181 with dims of 134-96-113. So we are seeing a bit slimmer waist with a touch more taper in the tail.
